9:27 pm - Finally Something Fun To Do
Went and saw RevCo and Ministry last nite. It was fucking awesome! I haven't had so much fun in a long time. I'm hoping to get my hearing back sometime soon. But it was worth it.
The last time I saw them together was 16 years ago w/ KMFDM. Of course they had some sound problems because they were at HOB. But doesn't everyone who plays there. Had a friend working security and got to sit in the VIP area upstairs. Very Cool!

9:33 am - New Orleans Aftermath
Living here even 2 1/2 months after Katrina and it still looks like a warzone. Debris is still everywhere and powerlines are still down and blocking streets. Dead refridgerators for days. I think we've got 1 gas station and 2 working traffic lights with in a 15 block radius of our Uptown apartment. And we still have the military here. Bryan played at a club saturday night. When we left at around 3:30 am, we had to sneak out the back thru a hole in the fence to avoid the MP's who were watching the front of the club. This 2 am curfew is pretty dumb. No one stopped us on the road on the way home. But, we couldn't be seen leaving the club. Doesn't make any sense. We still have another 2 weeks before we have a phone line/ cable / and real internet. Cell phone reception is horrible here still. We have to drive 20 minutes away just to get a halfass signal... that's all for now.

11:51 pm - Duran Duran Concert
I just got home. They were great as usual. They were very smart and never played more than one song off the new album in between old stuff. I don't think I've ever heard them play "Sound of Thunder" in concert before. Simon was pretty sexy in his "chauffeur" outfit (including hat) with the video playing on a giant screen in the background. I have to quote my friend Susan who said "Nothing like that to ruin a teenage fantasy" when we saw Simon behind the drummer riser hiking up his pants. And of course, it being new orleans and all, someone threw beads (along w/ bras & underwear) up on stage and Simon trip over them and fell to his knees. John had on a great suit jacket w/ a lovely skull on the back of it. Always a great time at their shows.

12:08 am - Hurricane Dennis
Before we knew exactly where it was heading, we had already decided to wait the storm out in New Orleans. We went and got all the supplies....water, batteries, junk food. Luckily this one decided to miss us, just some Tropical Storm force winds and rain, but now they say there's another storm brewing out there. Great! Why did I move to New Orleans again?!

On a happier note, I had one of the best weekends of my life in New Jersey last weekend.( Who ever thought I'd say that about New Jersey.) I got to see my best friend and meet a lot of great people. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I'll be able to take another trip up there. Unfortunately, I came home to find out that the shop I've got my jewelry on consignment with (M Pyre) is closed because the building it was in was sold. I hope they're able to find some new space soon because they've got some great stuff.
